MindGame Research Lab is an independent NGO and interdisciplinary research center based at the Faculty of Economics and Management of Nabeul (FSEGN). Dedicated to advancing research in behavioral science, our lab combines rigorous theoretical frameworks with empirical methods and practical decision-making applications. As we expand our research portfolio, we are seeking a passionate, analytical, and intellectually curious Research Fellow to take ownership of dedicated research projects and contribute to the development of impactful scientific knowledge.

Position Overview
Reporting to the Head of Research Hub and Principal Investigator (PI), the Research Fellow serves as an independent researcher responsible for driving a dedicated research project or research theme within MindGame.
The Research Fellow is expected to bridge early-stage research ideas and scientific outputs by developing research questions, conducting literature reviews, contributing to theoretical and empirical research, coordinating assigned Research Assistants, and preparing manuscripts and research presentations.
Key Responsibilities
- Research Project Leadership: Lead an assigned research project from research question formulation and literature review through research design, data acquisition, analysis, and scientific writing.
- Research Development: Develop theoretical frameworks, hypotheses, models, experiments, or empirical strategies in collaboration with the Research Hub and other relevant Hubs.
- Literature & Theory: Conduct comprehensive literature reviews, identify research gaps, and contribute to the development of rigorous theoretical and conceptual frameworks.
- Data & Analysis: Collect, clean, analyze, and interpret qualitative, quantitative, experimental, or computational data depending on the research project.
- Academic Writing: Prepare working papers, research reports, conference abstracts, manuscripts, and other scientific outputs under the guidance of senior researchers.
- Scientific Dissemination: Present research findings and ongoing work at lab seminars, workshops, conferences, and other academic events.
- Research Supervision: Guide and supervise assigned Research Assistants, distributing tasks, reviewing their work, and supporting their research development.
- Cross-Hub Collaboration: Work with the Tech & Data Hub on computational and data-driven components and with the Experimentation Hub on experimental design, participant operations, and empirical implementation.
- Public & Policy Translation: Contribute research insights to policy briefs, white papers, research blogs, and other accessible formats when appropriate.
- Scientific Coordination: Participate in Research Hub meetings and contribute to the broader development of MindGame's research agenda.
Qualifications & Mindset
- Academic Background: Master's degree in Economics, Psychology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Cognitive Science, or another related field. Exceptional Bachelor's-level candidates with strong research experience may also be considered.
- Research Experience: Demonstrated experience in academic research through a Master's thesis, research projects, publications, working papers, research assistantships, internships, conferences, or seminars.
- Technical & Analytical Skills: Proficiency in at least one relevant research tool or programming environment, such as Python, R, Stata, MATLAB, LaTeX, Zotero, oTree, or other quantitative and experimental research tools.
- Academic Writing: Strong ability to read, synthesize, and communicate academic literature and develop clear scientific arguments.
- Research Independence: Ability to work independently, manage research tasks and deadlines, identify problems, and take initiative while remaining open to feedback and collaborative development.
- MindGame-Specific Attributes: Strong interest in behavioral science, game theory, strategic interaction, bounded rationality, decision-making, or AI and human behavior. Candidates interested in addressing research questions relevant to African contexts are particularly encouraged to apply.
